Summary: The goal of this study is to more accurately quantify gait metrics (specifically step length and width) by fusing two Inertial Measurement Unit sensors with one GPS sensor’s data so that we can use those metrics to understand higher-level things about the soldier's biomechanical status during a loaded ruck march. That status may include fatigue, injury, and any other kinds of anomalies that may be of interest. Ultimately, by learning what biomechanical metrics correlate with low injury/fatigue and high soldier effectiveness, we can train soldiers more intelligently.
