Summary: Atmospheric scalar dispersion in urban environments is highly complex, and a fundamental understanding is necessary for addressing pollutant levels or harmful contaminant releases. In this study, a puff (transient) release dispersion experiment was performed involving a scaled model of Oklahoma City. An MRI system was leveraged to obtain ~2 million three-dimensional measurements over each of 12 discrete intervals throughout the transient release injection cycle. An overview of results related to plume advection and scalar flux is presented, with implications for characterizing turbulence.
