Made by the Divine Emperor of Shenguang out of clay and lightning, the tengu are a race of reddish humanoids with long noses and wings, as well as any humanoid they posess with their masks as a means to carry on with their lives once their bodies need replacement.
Originally the personal army of The Divine Emperor, replacing the Black Army of The Kenku , they served with loyalty as another arm of the Bureaucracy, until the Emperor's dissapereance when they took flight and formed the backbone of the Mikoshi Retinues . All original tengu are male, but after their original body decays they can take over any body, overcoming that person's identity.
Tengu favor short names reflecting their personality or a defining feature they possess, followed by a last name referring to their master. These do not reflect gender.
