The kindred of the sky, fallen from heaven and their cities in the clouds, still yearning for their lost haven. Still, the gifts of their ancestors have set them ten steps ahead of the people in the land that they arrived to, which they quickly employed to set themselves as the nobility, ruling from their tall spires with the power of magics as old as the world.
The Avariel rule as the Szlactha, the noble class in the Kingdom of The Llapocks, they preffer lives of leisure and joy, rarely bothering themselves with the matters of ruling, or improving the kingdom they have already built to support their comfort.
Names in Avariel society are typically fantasy elven names, deriving from tolkien's elven tongue
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your wisdom by 1.
Age. Although elves reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, the elven understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. Avariel live longer than most elves. They typically claim adulthood and an adult name at around 100 and can live for 1000 years.
Alignment. Avariel, like their elven brethren, love freedom, and no freedom is quite as great as soaring through the skies. They lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos. They value and protect others' freedom as well as their own, and they are more often good or neutral. It is within Avariel culture to not interact with the world outside their enclaves in their attempt to keep their race as pure in both bloodline and culture as possible.
Size. Avariel range from under 5 to over 6 feet tall and have slender but muscular builds. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You have a flying speed of 30 feet as long as you are not wearing medium or heavy armor.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Keen Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Trance. Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is "trance.") While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Wings. You have a pair of wings that grant you a flight speed equal to your walking speed. Broad and feathered, they can span up to 10 feet when fully extended. They are usually white, but could be black, brown or speckled. Armor and clothing cost 25% more for alterations made to accommodate your wings.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common, Elvish and one other language of your choice. In addition, the avariel have their own unique form of sign language based around aerial movement that is less subtle than those of non-flying races, having been developed primarily for communication during flight.
