An ancient people whose origin is still debated to this day, the Kodan are humanoid bears that inhabit the northern snow plains and forests. Their tribes live as far west as the Tsardom of Varangor and as far east as the Shinsei Shogunate, though notably avoiding the lands of the Chogtor and Marannor.
Often characterized as brutes, their people are one of innate wisdom and deep insight. Travelling in small tribes troughout the snow, both eastern and western kodan will follow the dance of the stars and pay omage to the moon, having an ancestral faith passed down generations since the time they awoke in the world.

Kodan have an internal facing name based off of their personality, past, actions, occupations, or something that they find suitable. To outsiders, they will often pick a named based on the culture they engage with the most.

Age. Kodan have a lifespan of around 300 years.
Alignment. Kodan consider themselves to be "The people of the snow" travellers and witnesses of the great beautiful things in the sky . They tend toward neutrality and good.
Size. Kodan stand between 8 and 10 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet. You also have a swimming speed of 30 feet.
Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Arctic Survivor. You can hold your breath for up to 15 minutes at a time. You're also naturally adapted to cold climates.
Ancestral Wisdom. You gain proficiency with two of the following skills of your choice: Insight, Nature, Religion, Medicine, and Survival.
Bite. Your fanged maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Starry Flame. You know one cantrip of your choice from the following list: produce flame, create bonfire, or word of radiance. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common or Imperial and Kodan.
