Awoken by The Divine Emperor of Shenghuang during its descent from heaven, dogfolk are a race of humanoid dogs, typically taking the appereance of large, mastiff breeds with wide snouts, sharp teeth and thick hair. Originally rabid and ungrateful, the dragons under The Divine Emperor and their retinues of dragonborn were sent to make them comply by divine decree.
Their aggressive nature set them to be the offensive core of the armies of the Northern Provinces , where they almost exclusively take combat roles. Their issues of discipline are many, but few commanders have faced issues of loyalty ever since the first time they were brought into compliance.
Dogfolk intermingle with wider imperial society to an extent that their names are derived from usual Shenghuang names, that being chinese names.
