Responsible Consumption
Responsible Consumption
BMC’s activities demonstrated a strong commitment to responsible consumption and sustainability, emphasizing waste management, energy efficiency, and sustainable procurement.
Waste Management and Recycling Initiatives
BMC has adopted waste management practices to ensure responsible disposal of medical and chemical waste. In 2024, the Social Responsibility Unit organized workshops to educate staff and students about hazardous waste disposal and recycling practices, ensuring that the BMC community is well-versed in sustainability. Through waste segregation and recycling initiatives, BMC continues to reduce its environmental impact, particularly concerning hazardous materials and general waste.
Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation
BMC has implemented energy-efficient technologies across its campus, such as LED lighting, solar panels, and smart building systems that optimize energy use. In 2024, BMC intensified its focus on energy conservation, encouraging the use of public transportation and carpooling to minimize emissions. Additionally, water conservation measures, such as water-saving devices and efficient irrigation systems, were introduced to reduce water consumption on campus, aligning with SDG 12.
