Características generales:

Hierba robusta de 30 cm a 1 m de alto. Sus hojas son láminas ovadas, de 2.5 a 20 cm de largo por 1 a 18 cm de ancho, las flores son erectas, sobre pedúnculos de 5 a 10 mm de largo; cáliz tubular, casi cilíndrico, de 1.5 a 5 cm de largo por 0.5 a 1 cm de diámetro con dientecillos. Fruto en forma de cápsula erecta, ovoide.

Usos medicinales reportados.


Para inflamación de las glándulas, las hojas y semillas se utilizan como narcóticos y calmantes.
