Heliotropium indicum

Generalidades

Nombre común: Alacrancillo, bigotitos, hoja de alacrán, lengua de sapo.

Características generales:

  • Es una planta anual, erecta, ramificada que puede crecer hasta una altura de unos 15 a 50 cm.

  • Tiene un tallo velloso, teniendo alternando hojas ovadas a oblongo-ovadas.

  • Tiene pequeñas flores blancas con un cáliz verde; cinco estambres soportados en un tubo de la corola; un estilo terminal; y un ovario de cuatro lóbulos.

Usos medicinales reportados

Es ampliamente usado como medicinal, sobre todo para enfermedades gastrointestinales; contiene varios alcaloides, entre ellos alcaloides de pirrolizidina.
