Senna multiglandulosa
Generalidades
Sinónimos: No aplican.
Nombre común: Retama, retama china (en la zona), alcaparro, frijol cimarrón, mulato, parra, retama de tierra caliente (fuera de la zona).
Características generales:
Arbusto de unos 2 m de altura a veces árbol pequeño, densamente provisto de follaje y usualmente muy ramificado desde la base, con el fuste corto, irregular, nudoso y la corteza agrietada de color marrón claro.
Es distinguible por su follaje pubescente y sus bonitas flores de color amarillo.
Usos medicinales reportados
Las ramas secas son empleadas en el embarazo, parto y puerperio: Las mujeres embarazadas toman la infusión de las ramas para tratar los dolores de pre-parto, y ayuda en la dilatación para acelerar el parto.
