Yanna Smid

It's me, Hi! I'm the problem, it's me!

Nonetheless, I love my life. Let's start with the basic stuff about me, shall we?

I have always been a creative thinker and I still love to use my creativity to make my drawings, stories, cartoons, or games. Gaming is another one of my favorite hobbies. I play all sorts of games but I especially enjoy a good storyline with exciting adventures. You can always talk to me about any of the Legend of Zelda games, the Last of Us, the Witcher, and (of course) Pokémon. Lastly, my favorite thing to do is hang out with my child Nikki. Rollerskating, ice skating, video games, shopping, watching movies, or just sitting in total silence, anything is nice with her.

After a workday, you'll most likely have trouble contacting me, since I'll be chilling at my house with my cat and calling with my girlfriend. But if you really really need me, you can easily summon me by sending me something about Taylor Swift.

Why Media Technology?

Ever since I was little I had a small obsession with artificial creatures. From the FurReal friends toys to the Disney's WALL-E, I just adored robots. Therefore, I've always had this dream of making my own robot one day. After high school, I decided to study Computer Science and Biology, which reconnected me with my love for robots. Here I learned the basics behind self-learning computer systems and algorithms, and I found my passion for AI. This brought me to my choice of Media Technology. Where I could combine my interests in AI and my creative thinking for research.

Now, in Artificial Creatures, I can finally pursue my dream of making my own artificial buddy.
