Hi everyone,
If you are wondering why a pirate ship is on my profile here, I have a nice story to tell you!
With this tall ship called the Regina Maris, I sailed around the Atlantic Ocean for six months during my fourth year of high school (I was 16 years old, in 2014/2015). I joined the program called "School at Sea" with 30 other high school students whom I did not know back then. As we learned to run this ship with the 30 of us, we also combined this with our regular school work and a lot of expeditions on shore. For me, this is already nine years ago but it made a lot of impact on me personally and socially that still runs through in my life nowadays.
Sailing remained one of my hobbies after high school, as I joined a student sailing association in Amsterdam during my bachelor's studies in Psychobiology. As I learned a lot about our behaviour and brain cells, I was a lot on the water in Friesland and Amsterdam as well (and even in Qingdao (China), although that was only once - picture on the left).
And just some other hobbies of mine: dancing (ecstatic, tango, zumba etc.), painting (by number), snowboarding, playing board games, (going to the) theater, reading, hanging out with friends and playing korfbal, table tennis, spikeball and other sports :).
After my bachelor's program, I ended up in Media tech for its combination of programming, being creative with research and art, and building things. This will be my portfolio page for the course Artificial Creatures in the Media Tech program where I hope to combine these three things again :). I don't have a portfolio page yet of my previous work but I will share some of the work here and the link to my LinkedIn page.
