He and She

He loves her

but she doesn’t know

She hates him

And he knows

He couldn’t let go.

They say opposites attract,

and they couldn’t be more different.

She can’t forgive him,

He doesn’t expect her to.

As after his blunder,

apologies were absent.

He’s been trying hard to forget

and move on

Even though he found success (at least some)

A few words threw him back into the chasm

the chasm in which he fell years ago

But now he’s prepared

to make the climb again
