What is food?

“any nourishing substance that is  consumed"

But what is it really?

It is torture.

Food is cruel

The goat you see at the farm, 

its throat is being sliced

Its legs are now in a bowl

Being served without dignity

The beautiful apple at the store,

is now being blended 

into mushy, white goo

Just for a toddler to spill.

Killing to satisfy our insatiable hunger 

What is food?

Food is life.
