Our annual Humanities Week transformed the school into an interactive museum of global awareness, bringing history and current affairs to life through an innovative treasure hunt of knowledge. Under the theme "Unearthing the Gems of Hope", students embarked on a unique learning adventure that took them through five specially designed stations, each unveiling different facets of global conflicts and human resilience. From exploring water conflicts in Geography to delving into the Vietnam War in History, understanding the Khmer Rouge regime, examining contemporary security challenges, and experiencing the power of war poetry, our students discovered how the past and present interconnect in shaping our world.
The buzz of excitement was palpable as groups of students, phones in hand, followed their digital guide – a specially designed Telegram bot that led them through this journey of discovery. Each completed station rewarded teams with a virtual gem, symbolising the valuable lessons and insights gained. The highlight of the experience came at the final station, where our budding poets participated in a meaningful "Take One, Leave One" poetry exchange. Here, students either crafted their own war poems or penned heartfelt messages of hope for the future, creating a powerful tapestry of young voices responding to global challenges. Through this immersive experience, our students didn't just learn about conflicts – they discovered the enduring power of hope and human resilience, making this year's Humanities Week truly unforgettable.
