Sec 2 Signature Programme - STEMpathy
Engaging in the Blooms and Bottles session! Happy to bond over fabric sewing!
The Secondary 2 Signature Programme, STEMpathy, took learning to the next level by combining science, sustainability, and social connection in one exciting, interdisciplinary experience! Anchored by the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) committee and the GreenSTEM committee, this programme wasn't just about hitting the books – it was about developing students into compassionate, community-minded leaders under the school’s L.E.A.D Framework: Engaged to Lead and Learn.
As part of the STEM ALP curriculum, students dove into the world of sustainable living and food security through an eye-opening farm-to-table journey. But the fun didn’t stop there! Partnering with Family Central’s Intergenerational Learning Programme (ILP), our students reached out beyond the classroom to connect with seniors through activities that brought smiles and laughter to everyone involved such as pickleball, fabric sewing, making and arranging paper flowers and linocraft. From senior-friendly sports to creative arts and crafts, it was all about building bridges and learning from one another.
Before diving into the action, selected student leaders went through a special leadership training to sharpen their skills and prepare them to lead their peers with confidence and care. The result? A unique learning adventure where students not only discovered more about the world around them but also about themselves – all while making meaningful connections and memories along the way.
Students, teachers and active agers had a great time bonding over chat and activities!
