The Springfield National Cadet Corps (Land) Boys unit had a fulfilling and action-packed year, marked by growth, resilience, and strong camaraderie. Our cadets demonstrated unwavering commitment in their training, overcoming challenges and building confidence through rigorous drills, individual field craft, navigation exercises, and Total Defence modules. These activities not only sharpened their skills but also instilled in them the core values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork.
One of the highlights of the year was the cadets’ experience at the live firing range, where they had the opportunity to handle the SAR 21 rifle and the Air Rifle. These sessions tested their focus and mental resilience under pressure, further strengthening their capabilities as future-ready youth leaders.
Beyond core training, our cadets proudly represented the unit in national-level competitions. The Freestyle Drill Competition provided an avenue for creativity and precision, while the Inter-Unit Soccer Competition showcased our sporting spirit. The soccer team displayed admirable determination and sportsmanship, eventually clinching 2nd place in a thrilling final, an achievement that brought great pride to the unit and school.
As the year comes to a close, we celebrate the cadets’ growth and achievements, and look forward to building on this strong foundation in the year ahead. Springfield NCC (Land) remains committed to developing disciplined, resilient, and future-ready leaders.
