Pupil Absence/Appointments
Please contact us before 8.30 am on each day of absence/appointments. Absence is a safeguarding concern. Lack of notification results in a text alert querying why your child is absent. You can phone on 01489 892256, choosing Option 1, or use the relevant email address below. Please also use these emails to report any early collections / late arrivals due to appointments:

Half Term
Next week is half term. The college will reopen as normal at 8.25 am on Monday 30 October 2023.
Christmas Lunches
A reminder that Christmas lunches are being held in college during the week commencing 11 December 2023 and these need to be booked in advance. The deadline for making payment and selecting food options is Wednesday 1 November 2023. Payment can be made via Scopay or cash/cheque (payable to Swanmore College - with your child's Name/Tutor group on the reverse and on the envelope. Please hand these to Pupil Reception).
DRED UK
We have DRED UK visiting Swanmore College on Thursday 2 November 2023. They will deliver assemblies to all pupils to raise awareness of the risks and prevalence of misuse, including key information about drugs, alcohol, solvents, tobacco and vaping. They will also deliver a presentation for parents/carers after college at 5.30 pm in the main hall. Please let us know if you wish to attend by returning the attached form.
PE Reminders
· With the weather starting to change and become colder, please ensure pupils bring outdoor PE kit - Swanmore hoodie / plain black hoodie / plain black jumper / black base layer / black tracksuit bottoms/leggings (must be sports leggings, not see-through).
· Pupils are not permitted to leave lessons early for a sporting fixture unless this has been agreed and communicated by a member of the PE Department.
· In light of our recent Health and Safety review, the PE department have now received a delivery of shin pads, which can be loaned to pupils for football lessons. If pupils have their own shin pads, they must bring them to lessons please. Anyone refusing to wear shin pads will be sent to the Learning Hub. Pupils have until January to ensure that they have this item of safety equipment as part of their PE kit. From January a kit mark will be given if this equipment is not brought to a football lesson. Shin pads must also be worn at after-college football clubs and when playing football at break times.
