Pupil Absence/Appointments
Please contact us before 8.30 am on each day of absence/appointments. Absence is a safeguarding concern. Lack of notification results in a text alert querying why your child is absent. You can phone on 01489 892256, choosing Option 1, or use the relevant email address below. Please also use these emails to report any early collections / late arrivals due to appointments:

Shoebox Appeal      

Swanmore College is taking part in the Wessex Rotary Shoebox Appeal to create shoeboxes of donations to send to disadvantaged children in Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and Ukraine. Each tutor group has been tasked with filling two shoeboxes and we would be grateful if any donations could please be brought in with your child and handed to their tutor by Thursday 2 November 2023. Pupils are aware of the items required.

Christmas Lunches

The final deadline for making payment and selecting food options for the Christmas lunches is tomorrow, Wednesday 1 November 2023. Payment can be made via Scopay or by cash/cheque to pupil reception (cheques should be made payable to Hampshire County Council, with your child's name/tutor group on the reverse and on the envelope). We will not be able to add your child's name to the lunches unless you order by tomorrow as we must order the food well in advance.

DRED UK

On Thursday 2 November 2023, we will be having an outside speaker from the DRED organisation coming into Swanmore College to deliver an informative and useful presentation to all year groups. Additionally, there will be a presentation for parents/carers by Bob Taite of DRED at 5:30 pm in the Main Hall. If you would like to attend, could you please return the attached attendance slip with your child.

Clubs

Please see attached the timetable of PE clubs and fixtures that are taking place this week. Please note that the Football Club on Friday will be for Year 9s only this week.

Uniform

All pupils should now be wearing a plain black V-neck jumper as part of their winter uniform: Uniform - Swanmore College (swanmore-school.co.uk)

Fun Snaps

We have had reports of Fun Snap Throw Bangers being thrown at pupils. Please ensure your child does not have any of these as they are very dangerous and can cause serious injury.

Year 7

All Year 7 & 8 pupils should now be entering the building via the Community Entrance (by the sports hall) when they come into college in the mornings. Staff members will be on duty to greet and direct them. 

Year 8

The Year 8 Parents' Evening is taking place on Thursday 2 November. 

Year 9

Reminder that any Year 9 pupils wishing to attend the 2025 Ski Trip must return their contract (attached to the email sent on 18 October) and deposit by Friday 3 November 2023.

Year 10

For any Year 10 pupils going on the Ski Trip in February 2024, please ensure you have filled in the measurements form by Friday 3 November if you have not already done so:
