Pupil Absence/Appointments
Please contact us before 8.30 am on each day of absence/appointments. Absence is a safeguarding concern. Lack of notification results in a text alert querying why your child is absent. You can phone on 01489 892256, choosing Option 1, or use the relevant email address below. Please also use these emails to report any early collections / late arrivals due to appointments:

Enrichment 2023/24

Important Reminders for Pupils - Hot Weather
· Stay Hydrated - Drink plenty of water during the day - please remember a refillable bottle each day.
· Eat well - Your body uses up more energy in this heat, it is important to keep its fuel topped up!
· Stay cool - Do what you can to stay cool, loose clothing and staying in the shade will help.
· Nosebleeds - Keep yourself cool as overheating can increase the likelihood of nosebleeds.
· Hayfever - Pollen count is ridiculously high, please take an antihistamine at home each morning.
Celebrating our Pupils' Achievements - a message from Mrs Griffiths, Deputy Headteacher
On Thursday 22 June 2023, Thomas Cunningham (Head Boy) and Lyla Newman (Head Girl) are hosting our annual Celebration Evening. Celebration Evening is an event that seeks to recognise both effort and achievement in college, across the curriculum and across the year groups. Each year it gets harder and harder to identify just one name for each of the categories. If your child has been nominated for an award, you will have received an invitation and we very much look forward to welcoming you to this event.
Some pupils, alongside being successful members of Swanmore College, have active, successful, and awe-inspiring achievements outside of college and we are looking for a way to recognise these too. At the end of each academic year, Heads of Year host a celebration assembly. This recognises a range of group and individual achievements. We would be very happy to expand this to achievements outside of Swanmore College, life if you would like to share details on behalf of your child. We encourage you to email the information to us via enquiries@swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk. Please use the title 'Celebration Assembly', the year group for your child, and include:
· Their name
· Details of their achievement
How we include this information into each assembly will depend on how many contributions we receive in each year group, but our goal will always be to celebrate and champion the achievements of your child.
PE Uniform
We have lots of pupils who are deciding to wear very short shorts for PE. Most of them are wearing Nike Pro shorts which are too short. Please can you remind your child that they need to have black shorts that are at least mid-thigh length, as per the college website: Uniform - Swanmore College (swanmore-school.co.uk). We have purchased several pairs of uniform shorts and will be handing these out to pupils who are in the wrong uniform so they can wear them over their incorrect shorts.
Aerosols & Sprays
Could we please remind you that sprays and aerosols are not permitted on site and pupils should be bringing in roll-on deodorants only. We have several pupils at Swanmore for whom these are a hazzard. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Chicago - College Production
Tickets are now on sale for the college production of Chicago. They can be purchased via Scopay and are priced at £10 adult ticket and £6 child ticket. Performance dates are 11 / 12 /13 July 2023.
Newspapers
The Art department is still in desperate need of newspapers. If anyone has any and would be kind enough to pass them onto us, please bring them to Visitor Reception, or ask your child to drop them to RO1.
