813.1 3D Studio Art, ​College Prep, Grades 9-12, Semester, 2.50 credits

3D Studio Art is an introductory semester course that explores the various forms of sculptural art through a variety of building materials such as cardboard, paper, clay, wire, mixed media, etc. Nonfunctional, three-dimensional art forms will be produced with an emphasis on creative thinking, individual development, and experimentation. Students will learn and use technical skills, understand the physical and expressive possibilities of sculptural materials, and demonstrate safe use of tools for various techniques throughout the class. The course will introduce the elements of art & principles of design while helping students to develop their personal artistic expression and critical thinking skills.
