Basecamp Pro Tips
View tasks using My Stuff: My Assignments.
Unsubscribe from threads anytime.
Adjust notification settings:
Computer: Click your initials → "Change notification settings" → Select "Only notify me when someone Pings or @mentions me" → Uncheck "Send me email notifications."
Mobile App: Tap Hey! → Menu → Set to Pings + @mentions first.
Check assignments daily and monitor Pings so you don't get behind.
Pings: Quick, private messages (not for assigning tasks).
To-Dos: Action items and communication logs.
Messages: Important updates and FYIs.
Docs & Files: Instructions, project details, and uploads.
Campfires: Group discussions (always @mention for responses).
Requests requiring action should always be a To-Do, not a Ping, Message, or Campfire.
Find the Right List: Use project-specific lists; check with the recipient if unsure.
Assign to One Person: Ensures accountability. If multiple people are assigned, clarify responsibilities in the notes.
Front Desk/Reception: Assign tasks to your immediate supervisor; they will delegate as needed.
Urgent Tasks: @mention the department manager in the To-Do notes if immediate attention is needed.
Use Actionable Language: Start with a verb (e.g., "Update," "Order," "Review").
Set a Due Date: Keeps tasks from being overlooked; deadlines can be adjusted with communication.
Add "Managed by [Your Name]" in the description.
Ensure discussions are facilitated and projects are properly closed.
Use existing templates for Events & Retreats.
Only add team members as needed.
