It is important for SunWater Spa to project a casual yet professional image. Etiquette, punctuality, keeping buildings and workspaces clean and orderly, and dressing appropriately all go hand-in-hand. We feel our dress code helps demonstrate respect for those you are working with, both inside and outside the organization. When you work with customers you’re representing SunWater Spa and the image we want to portray.

• While in an ideal world you’d be judged solely by your skills, expertise, and personality, at the end of the day first impressions matter—and your clothes are a huge part of that

• Your clothing can create equality between you and your co-workers. In theory, if everyone’s wearing similar clothing, it makes it easier to focus on people’s skills and ideas, rather than what they’re wearing.

• If you’re unsure whether it’s appropriate, it’s probably not. When in doubt, always dress up rather than down.

• If you look the part you’re more easily able to act the part. You’ll have more confidence, you’ll gain respect from co-workers, and you’ll make a better impression on customers. We’re in a very fast-paced world. We look someone over very quickly, and even though we’re told not to make judgments of people we are making assumptions about them.

• To stand out from the competition, SunWater Spa wants to have an attractive image. This means making an excellent, professional impression on our target audience so we can gain and retain new customers.

• Among all the things we can do to improve our brand image, one of the most effective is having an employee dress code. No one should be exempt from this, not even those who are in upper management.

• Everyone employed as a member of our team is a representative of our entire business. When customers enter our space, the last thing we want is for them to be skeptical about our credibility because our employees are underdressed, or unprofessional.

• Our dress code is meant to create a level playing ground. Everyone must follow the guidelines we’ve implemented so every member of your workforce is on the same page.

• Our dress code strengthens our legitimacy as a business since clients will be more likely to trust you if you look professional. It creates a lasting first impression on our target audience and it results in better customer retention and loyalty.
