Abstract Shoe

Sharpie and color pencil on print making paper

The main idea that guided my artwork was first just the view of a shoe and how lines change how you zoom in, and then different landscapes. For the three different views of a zoomed in shoe, I chose a part of the shoe with some of the Nike swoosh because I like the curve and progressively zoomed in. I used graphite pencil for that drawing, and went over again to darken it up. For the abstract piece, I used a sky on top, which was separated by different color patterns and then drew a mountain. Below that I drew a road and flowers, and filled in the Nike sign so the shoe was still visible. I did this to show the different places shoes can take you, which I thought was cool. This work was made with graphite pencil to sketch everything out, sharpie pen to do some outlines, and color pencil to fill everything in. The process I used was brainstorming an idea. I was first gonna do some random fall patterns, but I liked the idea of different landscapes more. I had to look up clouds and mountains to draw them better, and was originally gonna make the road a river.
