Assemblage person
paper, tape, cloth, buttons, yarn
The main idea that guided my artwork was creating a little doll, kind of like the rag dolls you always see. I wanted it to be a cute little person but it came out kind of scary so it is more of a horror movie doll. I used masking tape, paper, cloth, black tape, buttons, and yarn to make my project. In the beginning, I was planning on using completely different materials. I was going to use wire, water bottles, a soda can, etc but right when I tried out the crumple method I like it a lot better and found it easier to shape and mold. The person did not really come out as I expected and it looks like a creepy doll instead of a fun cute one but I still liked making it a lot. I had some struggles with the hot glue and the hair because it can be tedious to make it secure, but overall it came out pretty sturdy. I like how I used yarn for the hair. Originally I was going to use wire for the hair, but my grandma has a bunch of materials lying around which made it super helpful. Without her, I probably would have used random scraps or leaves for clothes, and that might have made it look less scary, but I like the little dress she has.
