Rubber Band Hand

For these drawings, I used pure contour techniques and graphite pencil to create them. The main idea that guided my artwork was the prompts provided. We were told to draw views of a show from the front, side, and above as well as a hand holding a rubber band. The work was made by first drawing light lines to create the outline of the art, then going in darker to purify the lines without shading. Pure contour is all about using pure lines, not sketchy or shaded so in order to create the art, you have to add more lines, or simply darken the existing ones. To create the shoe drawing, I just looked at my shoe and drew it from different angles. For the hand, I just imagined a hand holding a rubber band. That one took a lot of revision because it is difficult to get all the lines and curves of a hand right and I had to look at my own hand a bunch of times.
