Value Strip Dolphin

The main idea that guided my artwork was the dolphin and more ocean vibe. I did not want to make the designs harsh or sharp because when you think of the ocean, it is more flowing. I made the patterns more rounded and connective.

I made this artwork by tracing a silhouette dolphin to get the outline. I then had to decide what pattern I wanted and I tried out a couple of different ones in pencil to see what it looked like in the dolphin. I started the tail nice and light, and added more lines and circles in sharpie as I went along and came closer to the head.

I had to experiment with a couple of different patterns and if I wanted every section to contain the same design. Originally I wanted each section to be unique, but I decided that it looked better for them all to be the same just with different levels of intensity
