For this project I wanted to create simple pieces of works. For the multicolors the elephants and stripes reminded me of the jungle which brings the color green to mind. I also wanted to use this color green for my unique background so I choose a map with only land. I also liked the thought of mixing it up and adding more color and texture which was what I did with the extended piece.

I mostly used ink for my base layer of ink for the design, a linoleum block that I carved out with many different types of tools, solid green ink. colors pencil, marker, pen, a roller, a spoon to press down on the paper and ink and printing paper.

I started by carving my linoleum block. Once that was finished I used a rolled to created a layer of ink on a glass sheet to then roll onto my block. I then laid another piece of printing paper on top of the carved linoleum block to then take a spoon and press down on the paper. Thistransereed the ink to the paper. As carefully as I could I lifted up the paper to try and get the ink as solid as possible without any blotches, clean borders and having my design centered. Overall I am happy with the outcome.
