Dot Markers, white pen, and white oil pastel

I based this piece on circles and dots. For the first artwork, I used 5 trees to create a similar piece that represented the circle of life. This included many colors representing different seasons and all the different parts of life. The white area in the middle represents more of life that is waiting to come and also the white area waiting for new ideas and inspiration in the future. I was trying to say with my piece that there is a continuous part of life that will never end with colors continuously blending you into another. For the second piece on the right, my inspiration was fireworks. However, instead of the firework being colorful I wanted my background to be colorful while the fireworks were plain.

For the firework piece on the left, I used dot markers and white pen, and white oil pastel. I started by using the dot markers-colors blue, orange, teal, and pink in random places on the page. I continued this process until the entire page was covered in color. I then when in with my white oil pastel to create thicker lines for the firework, while I used the white pen to create smaller lines. Overall this piece felt like a good piece to start the creative juices flowing in my head. It felt like a good warmup and a good way to declutter my head.

For the circle of life, I used basic materials such as markers, a black fine-point pen, and a graphite pencil to start my sketch. I started by using my graphite pencil to sketch out the trees to get the space right so I knew where each element would go. I then did my roots with black markers and blended this into a grey area on the trunk. I then used a wide variety of markers on the leaves and branches. I wanted the top of each tree to blend into each other. I then took smaller markers and created little dots opposite the color of the trees. I then used my fine-point pen to outline the dots closest to the roots to create an ombre effect.
