Colorful pens, Ink, Sharpie

For this project I first started with a splash of ink on the page. I looked at the paper in all different directions and realized to me it looked like a body of water on a map. I connected this body of water to Sebago lake and added more bodies of water around it. I looked at a map for reference of this area so I could get an Idea of what would look realistic. I liked how on the map I was looking at there was the elevation lines so I put that own twist on my work.

I used various colors of felt pens such as black, brown, light green, dark green, light blue, dark blue, pink, red, orange, and yellow. For other materials I also just used a 4H pencil to start my sketch and a sharpie to incorporate more solid black. For my paper I used bristol board.

I started with my ink drop and after I figured out my idea I started with my pencil and sketched out the map of my Lake Area. I then went over the pencil with my black felt pen. I followed this black line with the other colors of felt pens and created these "elevation lines". Overall I'm very happy with the outcome of this work. I love the use of positive and negative space that is played with in this piece.
