Colored Pencil and Graphite On Pastel Paper
I started by sketching the figure of my subject then creating more geometric shapes with the clothing and face. I also change the background and made them shade through geometric shapes from blue/ purple to green, then yellow, then orange, and red. For this artwork, I used colored pencils and graphite. I used a variety of colors inspired by Gustav Klimt and the art movement Fauvism that used lots of colors. Picasso and the cubism art movement also inspired me to create this piece of work. I used lots of geometrical shapes and overlapping colors and contrasting colors next to each other and changed the form and shape of many areas of my subject that I was drawing. My subject was standing upwards with a blank expression, with a hat and glasses on. She also had small hoop earrings in her ear which is only seen in the right ear in my art. I love how this piece of art is so vibrant and bright. The whole piece of art stands out and I really appreciate that.
