Made on photoshop
For this piece, I used photoshop for the first time, I learned new tools such as the paint bucket, eye dropper, and paintbrush. I chose a picture of my mom and my neighbor's dog culling on the couch. I liked this photo because there seem to be lots of life and a variety of browns, nudes, and pinks. I saw many shadows and textures as there were many structures and shapes. The dog had soft fur that awws a variety. of shapes and tints of yellow and brown while my mom's hair had many shades and tints of brown while her face played around with pinks and reds. I also chose to include the background because it makes it more realistic. I also like that there were many different angles that I had to include and pay attention to while creating this.
We first started by importing a photo that we liked that had a wide variety of colors. Since I had already used photoshop once I was slightly familiar with the tools after doing the logo design, however, it was still hard to manage to have so many components, and having this project be so time-consuming. There was no reason to where I started on the photo, but I ended up beginning with the left eye of the dop. I started by zooming in and then used the eye dropper tool to find the correct color then got my paint brush tool and outlined the section I thought was closest to the color that was selected. I continued this throughout the piece. With larger sections, I used the eye dropper tool and then got the paint bucket to fill the entire section. Sometimes I had to click the section twice and there were still parts that the bucket tool missed.
Using photoshop felt very foreign, long, and agonizing. I didn't like that I had to spend hours in just a certain spot to find the right colors and shading. My brain started hurting after looking at the screen for so long that it made the project not fun and unenjoyable. Overall I didn't enjoy this project. I wouldn't do it again considering how time-consuming this was and how I felt so unproductive. When I zoom in there are missing gaps that would add an additional few hours just to fill in each white space. When I zoom out it looks good but it felt like I couldn't complete this in a different amount of time because of the detail and precision needed. This was also hard because I didn't know how to use photoshop and the setup was awkward, and watching videos on how to use different features was more frustrating.
