House made of Hotdogs, Ice-cream, and Lollipops

8.5 X 11 ''

In this assignment, I was told to draw a house made of hotdogs, lollipops, and ice-cream. This has no significance to my life, but using a pencil and eraser has been my favorite art technique and I was very pleased to be able to do this for my project.

As I mentioned before, this project was made completely from a 2b and 6b pencil. Thinner and lighter details were mad with the 2b, and the darker, bolder lines were made with a 6b pencil. The shading and specific lines were made from a ruler, and style was inspired by the previous drawings I've done in the past.

The most used element of art and principal of design that I used was Line and Pattern. Line was used for precision and technique. For example, the door, the windows, and details on the hotdogs, lollipops, and ice-cream. The pattern was mainly used for the repetition purposes of the house, since a house usually has a sense of pattern, and I wanted to interpret my observation into my artwork. This can be shown in the repetition of the Hot-dog roofs, the ice-cream walls, and pretty much anything you can put your eye to has some sort of reassurance. Nothing dramatically evolved from my main idea which is shown ABOVE. My next steps could to possibly add more detail and shading overall to the piece, so it can be even more visually appealing.
