"Freeport Falcon"
8 X 8 ''
In this project, we had to create a new, original logo for Freeport High School. This could be specific to a certain club or activity, or could be just for the high school in general. In my project, I decided to go in a more general direction, and just do a logo for Freeport High School. You can see that I drew the letters of Freeport in the shape of a Falcon since that is our mascot.
In this project I used a fine-tip sharpie as well as colored pencil to show one of our school colors, Maroon. I wanted to use a sharpie since the logo had to be bold, but I also wanted it to not be so thick, so I made sure the sharpie was fine-tipped.
In this assignment I used shape as well as contrast. Shape was clearly used to show the falcon in the font of the "Freeport" text. Without the shape in this project, the whole idea would have become unrecognizable. Contrast was demonstrated when I used color in this project. I could have just made the logo black and white, but adding the maroon made the logo more interesting. My project didn't evolve very much, but my next steps could be making the color more bold, so if it were a logo, it would stand out more.
