For this assignment, we had to create "Time capsules". The point of this assignment is to compare our artwork from the beginning of the year to the end of the year to see our individual growth. My self-portrait is cropped so you can see my eyes and above, my and is curled in a ball-like form, and the object is the American Flag. None of these have any relation to my own life, but it was a lot of fun to draw each one of them, my favorite being my self-portrait.

In this project, I only used my pencil because these were considered to be sketches and not full pieces of art. On the other hand, drawing with pencil is the most comfortable form of art that I like to undertake, and I think that with the right amount of time and patience, you can create something beautiful.

Two elements of art that you can see in my artwork can be line and texture. Line is used in almost all of my drawings I've done since line can make a difference in the shape of an object, the details of an object and many more. Line can be seen in the shape of my face, the unity of my hand, and the overall process of the American Flag. Texture is used a lot in my artwork, especially with my self-portrait. By using it in my self-portrait, you can clearly see that the texture between my face and my hair is very different. It is very important to use this in one's art for a more realistic look. My projects didn't evolve very much from my original idea, but my next steps for these drawing would have to include going back and maybe adding more shading, an interesting background, and overall just adding more to each of the pieces.
