Linoleum

The main idea that guided my artwork was the prompt I was given in class and that was to create 4 final linoleum prints that were clean and how I wanted them. Given this prompt of having 1 print on a non traditional surface I automatically knew what I wanted to do: fabric (t-shirt). which is the main thing that I wanted to figure out how to do while completing this project.

To create this project I used linoleum (easy to cut) a carver (speedball) a brayer, roller, and block printing/fabric ink. I used the carver to carve out my design but first I needed to transfer the design I had drawn on paper onto the block which is done by drawing the design on paper with a pencil and then going over it with a 6B pencil (the softest graphite) and putting it on the block and going over the paper with a H pencil which transfers the graphite onto the block, I then went over it with a sharpie to keep the design in place and then finally started carving
