Finished coil pot
To start I used the same process in which I used for my coil and carve project which was getting a bit of the clay I needed (not everything because I didn't want the rest to dry out and I got more throughout the process of making this pot) and I started creating the base of the pot. Once that was done I started rolling out the coils I was going to start with (I ended up using a lot of coils! As my end result turned out fairly large) I used the coiling technique to build up my pot and once I got the point where I needed to close in my pot a little bit I used smaller coils as it went up and I attached them slightly inward where as before I was just stacking them one on top of the other. Once it was finished I did a final smoothing of the pot and l let it dry out. I then glazed it using a red glaze and applied three coats of it. After all of that was over it was fired in a glaze firing. I photographed it and finally took it home.
