Color Design

The main idea that guided my work was the prompt given in class which was to create a painting using all the colors on the color wheel and for there to be 3 shades and 3 tints of every color and therefore giving me 84 colors. The first thing that came to my mind was flowers because I could easily incorporate 7 sections into every flower and there are 12 which would give me the 84 needed sections. For this piece, I used acrylic paint and canvas which were two materials I was very familiar with so I knew exactly how to go about this. I used a palette knife and a palette to mix all the colors together. I experimented with color and value for this project, I had used those processes before but with this project, I learned how to perfect it. I didn't have to revise at all because I had spent a lot of time thinking about how I was going to do this.
