Scratchboard tools and graphite on scratchboard.
In this project, I first created a value strip to test my ability and hone it, then I choose a picture of my creation to put onto scratchboard.
The materials used were graphite and scratchboard tools on scratchboard.
In this project, I started by creating the value strip with a ruler measuring the amount of value boxes I would need. Then I tested the two tools I would be using in the large project to create the different shads needed for a value strip. After that, I searched for a photo I took to turn into a scratchboard drawing, once I had found that image I printed and graphite transferred the outline shape of the dog. Then I went and started the scratching on the scratchboard, it took longer than expected. Once I did most of the main parts I went back in to add more detail if needed, then I signed it and finished.
