Peephole Sky
8" x 8"
graphite, ink pen, gel pen, and colored pencil on drawing paper
Sketch
In the artwork, I was trying to show how we can see and experience different landscapes and artworks from different positions. This one I was going for a fish eye that was looking straight up.
This art was independent studies #2, the overarching essential question for my independent studies is, how do I change perception and perspective change in landscape drawings.
The materials I used were graphite, ink pen, gel pen, and colored pencil.
For the second IS I tried to find something different from the first one and landed on the idea that I wanted to show the night sky once again but from a very different angle and perspective. once I had finally decided on that idea, I started to sketch it out and plan it out in my sketchbook. Then, I did the first draft, but after completing the graphite and pen work, I took off the tape I had put on. Sadly, the tape had taken off a layer of the paper, and I wasn't happy with the size. That is when I decided to start over and work on a second draft, which became the final project. After I had finished the pen work, I started to add in the gradient of colored pencil in the sky. Finally, I added the time-lapse stars i the ski with gen pen.
