Paper Sculpture #2

Paper Peaks
Paper and glue
5" x 7" x 1/4"

For this work, I had to use paper in any possible to create a three-dimensional art piece.

The materials I used were paper and glue.

To start the project, we were given a set material to use, that was paper. We had to conger up what art we could with one of the most basic art supplies. I sketch out an idea I though would be good for this project. Once happy with the idea and how I was going to go about making it, I started thinking about what mountain I would want to use as my base. I decided on using Sugarloaf ski mountain in Maine. when I decided that, I looked for an application or website that would allow me to break the mountain down into it individual elevation topographical lines. When I found the website, I put in the location and created an SVG file that could be transmitted into an application that would allow me to cut the separate layers on a machine called a Cricut. Then, after the layers had been cut, I organized them to my layer and started to glue them together to get the three-dimensional depth of the mountain.
