Realistic Self Portrait

In this work, I started by drawing a graphite value strip to get better at shading and getting the right value.

The material I used was graphite on pastel paper.

For this project I started by doing a small graphite value strip on drawing paper to get better at getting the right value and shading, then I took a picture of myself after that I printed it in black and white to draw it. Soon after I drew a 1" by 1" grid on the print picture then I did the same thing on the pastel paper to copy it. Lastly I used a view finder to draw every individual square to make it the best I can, I used blending and things I learned from the value strip.
