This art was independent studies #1, the overarching essential question for my independent studies is, how do I change perception and perspective change in landscape drawings.
The materials I used were graphite, caracole, and chalk pastel on drawing paper.
In this artwork, I stated by trying to create an art piece that allows me to change and let the viewer of the artwork to change their perception of the art. once I had a few ideas, I put them down in a sketch. I choose to do a second sketch after not fulling liking the original sketch. once I had finished the sketch, I started to get the general shape of the mountains on the artwork. Then I darkened the lines and filled in the mountains. After that, I started to add the sky and gradient of color. I choose to use chalk pastel to do the sky, because it can be blended well, and you don't need as many layers as oil pastels. Once I had gotten the mountains and sky finished, I added the small bunch of trees on the mountains and the stars.

In the artwork I was trying to show how you don't always know what up or down and your perception of a situation can be different from others. I also wanted to allow people to see landscapes don't have to be real or a real place.
