Acrylic Value Strip

9"x 12"

Graphite and acrylic paint on canvas

I did this project to get used to using acrylic paint, and to be able to mix paints better.

I used graphite for the grid, and acrylic paint for the rest

I started off by gridding a piece of canvas into section using graphite. After I when and decided what colors I would use to create the value strip itself. Then I started to mix the colors I would use for the strip and get the tones and tints right. After that I started to paint in the grid and make the value strip, then I went and painted a second coat.

Colors 84

12"x 16"

Graphite, acrylic, and paint marker on canvas

for this project, I had to create a design or drawing that I could use 84 different shads and tints to fill in.

The materials used were graphite, acrylic, and paint marker.

This project I started by creating a design to hold all the color, I was first going to do a mountain bike or a pair of skis but then decided to go in the abstract route. Once I decided I to work on the design and sketched it out with pencil, then I started painting and mixing all the different colors needed which are shown on the rubric. After that I when and did two or more coats if needed, and then when over the lines with the paint marker.
