This year in art, I've learned a lot, but my strengths and weaknesses were shone. My weaknesses were shone through trying to find ideas, since for me, it’s hard to find good ideas to create. Tho my weaknesses were shown, my strengths were also shown, which are being able to use my hand and other creativity to create things, including the assemblage and wire sculpture projects.
My work has truly shown how I have improved throughout this year. Some great example is how near the beginning of the year I did a small self-portrait for a project and then later in the Year a drew another on, and being able to look at the two side by side can show just how much I improved in the short time I had been I class. The second example is being able to use different materials, at the beginning of the year I was almost scared of using things like ink or paint, so the permanents but then one I had figured how to use them I started using them more often.
For me, the most challenging project was probably the duck stamp. This was my most difficult project because for me decisions are hard, and I had to choose many things including what duck to paint, what materials to use, what the background will be, and what position I should put the duck in. The project was hard, but I drove through it and am happy with the results.
The project I'm most proud of has to be the pure contour project. This project I'm most proud of, since I had to move out of the more fictional drawing and move into something that is in real life and create almost a model of it on paper. This I'm proud of since I had to do something I haven't done before, and I think the turnout is excellent. Even though the project turned out good, I really think the process was more needed and helpful for me since after that I had more confidence in my drawing capability.
My artistic goals in the future are being able to see my beauty and not cringe at it. This may seem simple, but for me, it can be difficult since my brain sometimes can only see the mystics and things I did wrong with the art piece.
To finish, I would like to say that to Ms Medsker and how she has supported me throughout the year.
