In September we changed how we delivered our Meet the Teacher Event. This became a much more informal and personal event, were each family had a short slot to talk about their child. Parents/Carers got the chance to lead the conversation and share what they thought was important about their child to the teacher. A massive 86.1% of parents preferred this event to our old way.
We got feedback from Parents/Carers and Staff and have shared this below. We also had a few things raised by parents and we have offered feedback on these.
Please see information below regarding the new Reporting to Parents system which is being implemented across Stirling Authority schools this session. Staff are currently preparing the first of the new style reports for you and your children and these will be coming your way soon.
Given the ways establishments report to parents has evolved over a number of years, a refresh of Stirling’s approach was required.
A group of 7 establishments alongside key members from a range of partners have developed a new reporting framework. This framework has been shaped based on feedback gathered from children, parents and staff on the most useful ways to report on children’s progress and has taken account of national guidance.
Attached is a visual of the framework for parents/carers. Below is a link to a short video that explains the new Progress Report
A link and code to access the Progress Report will be emailed to you from our platform's email address (noreply@inspirationalpedagogy.uk); please ensure we have your most up to date email address. This account is not monitored; please do not reply to the email; an automatic reply will ask you to contact the main school email address if you attempt to respond.
In our establishment, you will receive the key aspects of the framework at the following points in the session:
Progress Reports will be issued twice in the year rather than 1 long report at the end of the session.
Ongoing feedback on your child’s learning via the school website with monthly Teacher updates and invitations to come into school to share your child's learning targets with you.
We hope you will find the information you will receive informative and helpful in taking forward your child’s learning.
