At Borestone Primary School we have a Family Link Worker called Miss Nicolson who supports in improving outcomes for our children and families.
Miss Nicolson has great relationships with our families and builds strong home/school links.
Below are some of the areas where Miss Nicolson offers support to our families.
Should you require any support, please contact the school office and Miss Nicolson will get back to you.
Miss Nicolson works hard to support our families to have the best possible attendance at school.
Attendance at school ensures that our children get the best possible start in life.
Attending school gives children routine, a regular bedtime, getting up time, set mealtimes.
School keeps pupils active and provides opportunities to develop positive relationships with peers and teachers, enhancing their overall emotional resilience and mental health.
We understand there are reasons why children need to miss school from time to time. Each missed day however, is associated with progressively lower achievement in numeracy, writing and reading. Being away from school a lot has a big impact on relationships and social connections.
Being late to school adds up to lost learning
5 minutes late each day = 3 days lost a year
15 minutes late each day = 2 weeks lost each year
Miss Nicolson can support you to apply for a National Entitlement Card (NEC), which offers access to many public services across the country. An NEC card also offers free bus travel for under 22s.
