At Borestone Primary School we have a Family Link Worker called Miss Nicolson who supports in improving outcomes for our children and families.

Miss Nicolson has great relationships with our families and builds strong home/school links.

Miss Nicolson works hard to support our families to have the best possible attendance at school.

We understand there are reasons why children need to miss school from time to time. Each missed day however, is associated with progressively lower achievement in numeracy, writing and reading. Being away from school a lot has a big impact on relationships and social connections.

Running late?

Being late to school adds up to lost learning
5 minutes late each day = 3 days lost a year
15 minutes late each day = 2 weeks lost each year

National Entitlement Card

Miss Nicolson can support you to apply for a National Entitlement Card (NEC), which offers access to many public services across the country. An NEC card also offers free bus travel for under 22s.

Food Bank Referrals

From time to time, families can experience financial difficulties due to a variety of circumstances including ill health, getting back on your feet can sometimes feel like an uphill struggle.

Transition Stirling

Transition Stirling is an environmental charity based in Stirling which offers a variety of projects to support the local community.

This includes Stirling Community Food, based in Wellgreen, which offers a variety of food for free.
