Our House system aims to celebrate achievement and attainment of learners.
Effort, achievement and good manners from pupils should be acknowledged by adults.
House points are given by all staff for those displaying our school values, effort and achievement.
Praise notes home for positive behaviours/effort/ demonstrating school values are given in the playground, lunch hall or around the school by all adults.
Each learner at Borestone joins one of four houses Bruce, McGregor, Stewart, Wallace. In addition to individual effort, children take part in House challenges throughout the session.
House challenges are planned by our House Captains to encourage children to participate and feel a sense of belonging to their house. House challenges are
· arranged by House Captains
· promote a sense of belonging and healthy competition
· can be linked to areas of the School Improvement Plan e.g. Sports Award, travel plan, Rights Respecting Schools, Mental Health etc.
· happen routinely across the session
The reward for the winning house each term is agreed by House Captains and awarded to the winning house members in the last week of term. The overall winner for the session is announced at the end of the Summer term.
The House Captains wanted to give a special treat for members of the winning house this term. They consulted their peers who agreed that an Easter treat would be a good reward for winning the House Points this term. To raise enough money for a creme egg treat, the House Captains organised a bake sale and raised over a whopping £275.
