For the past 3 years at Borestone, our learners in Primary 6 have taken part in the John Muir Award.
With the aim of conserving, protecting and inspiring our learners to value and protect our wild spaces, learners have enjoyed the opportunity to take their learning outdoors whilst also achieving the award. We are looking forward to taking part in the newly redesigned programme in 2025.
In session 2023-24, we have been trialing Forth Valley NHS Natural Health Award. Children from P1-5 have been taking part in a range of activities that improve health and wellbeing by exploring the outdoors.
Nearly 20 children took part in the award and all of them have been successful in achieving the certificate. Their feedback has been so positive that we plan for all P1 and P7 learners to take part in the award next session as part of the P7 buddying programme.
