We are a group of volunteering parents that help our school to give our children the best experience possible in their early education!

We meet with the school every term to discuss progress with the school's current agendas, organise fundraising activities and events, and distribute funds to the school for new projects and classroom activities.

In 2025-2026 we raised an amazing total of £4700! This money is used to better enrich the lives of our children within the School and Nursery! Some of the money is used to run the events, and other amounts are raised to aid our school to create a modern and welcoming environment.

The Parent Council’s financial year lasts from June to May so the first event that we run each year is the inflatables event, a fun day that all the children get to be involved in. In the 2025-2026 year our income from this was £ 1,200. This year we have smashed that for a grand total of £3400, a total of £2600 towards our funding goals!

Our previous major funding goal was raising funds for an updated school stage and we accumulated £2500 for this. Our current funding goal is for new PE equipment and we are trying to raise £3500 to fund this completely!

The Parent Council organise and run a variety of activities and events throughout the school year to help raise money towards our shared goals. Our staple events from previous years have been:

● The Halloween Disco

● The Christmas Fayre

● Inflatables Fun Day

We also organised:

● The Christmas Card drawing competition and item purchasing

● The Easter Egg Raffle Egg-stravaganza!

This year we are also introducing the new Burns Night Blind Bingo!

These events and activities help to fund a wide variety of things within the school as well as covering the cost of the events and activities themselves. In 2025-2026 these included:

● The buses for the Pantomime Trip

● The Nursery to P2 movie and snack Christmas Treat

● P7 leavers gifts

● New Leaver Books for the P7s

● The renewal of the School Library Subscription

● New Outdoor Learning Equipment

● The Good Morning Club subscription

With all the work we do, we would be nothing without the amazing parents who volunteer their precious time. We would love for you to join us and volunteer at our events!

Every Parent has the chance to get involved in the activities of the Parent Council as we help to enrich the lives of the children in the Nursery and School through our fundraising efforts.

Whether you want to come to the meetings, volunteer at the events or just get involved with the discussions that help to shape our children's futures, you can!

Want to be more actively involved?

Fantastic! We are always looking for more Board Members! There are 20 spaces available on the Board and we would love more Parents to get involved to bring fresh ideas and energy to the room. Board Members are the decision makers within the Parent Council and review the financial position along with agreeing to the funding of school projects. There are a minimum of 3 roles to fill (Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer) plus other individuals to take on vice roles, project management, fundraising coordination, along with other exciting opportunities. There is an expectation that Board Members will aim to go to more meetings with the school, but there is still no pressure!
